Mozilla OUT OF CONTROL
There once was a time Firefox was a brand renowned for restoring control to the user in a time when browsers where screwing us all over for their own profits.
Lately, to get the same experience, you have to turn off close to 100 settings and most of them hidden in the special settings section behind a warning to scare people from ever toggling them.
It makes me bloody sick that all these companies feel they have the right to abuse our respective privacies, ensure that the software we use reports back to them our every choice online to fund the crap they shove down our throats.
Mozilla's latest "trick" is for IT to first of all automaticall update (without asking) our components we are all happy with, which is bad for a starter because the updates are only supplied to spam back to the provdier more of our personal details and habbits without our consent. Though they crossed a line recently when they decided it was no long OUR choice what we wanted to do online but theirs as they add blocking software to "block most Adobe Flash" content. Now, when its giving US the choice commend them, but now they have taken that choice and are deciding FOR us what IS and what ISN'T wanted.
What this is meaning is alot of favourite games and sites are blocked from accessibility as Mozilla quickly removes the content behind the sceens.

I'm sick of this shit. I think it's time to write a browser.
The saddest part is, Firefox is still the browser which gives the most choice and has the least tracking. Google Chrome is like signing up to having spy cameras installed around your home tracking your every move.

Robbed of the last day of First Contact Day
Serry was collecting her last token and, NOOOOOOOOOO they took it away T_T.
See, the calendar shows 13'th inclusive. It's 13th Today in NZ. Which is one day ahead! It's still the end of the 12'th around the world.

How to transfer Pidgin between PC's
A fleet member asked about installing and setting up Pidgin on a new PC. I created this guide as the super simple way to do that without having to reconfigure on the target.
If you have the same installer you used on the first PC it makes it safer, but for simplicity I'll mention using the latest Pidgin:
If you have the same installer you used on the first PC it makes it safer, but for simplicity I'll mention using the latest Pidgin:
- You will need a USB memory stick for the transfer (other suitable transfer mediums apply).
- Download the Pidgin client here : http://www.pidgin.im/
- On you original PC with working Pidgin.
- Open Windows Explorer and in the address bar, type %appdata% and press enter:
- You will see similar to the following:
- Find and right click on .purple.
- Click "Copy" from the menu
-
- Next, navigate to your USB drive, in My Computer right click and choose "Paste":
- When the copy completes, that the USB memory stick and plug it into your new PC.
- Ensure Pidgin is installed, but don't bother configuring.
- Open your USB Memory Stick in Explorer and right click on .purple and choose "Copy" again.
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4. Then right click on some white space in that folder and choose "Paste":
- Launch Pidgin and your configuration should be identical to your first PC.
