Restore choice to players Cryptic

So I finally snapped, here is the letter I wrote to Cryptic and I fully mean what I wrote:Dear Cryptic, I have been playing StarTrek Online since its inception and over the last 8 years, when I first played the game I found you had made the exact right choices on the way the engine worked, which is to say that the player was the one making the decisions. Let me say that unless and until you remove such stupid mechanisms as I detail below I intend not to spend a single additional dollar on the game. Over these year you have been steadily destroying all I love about the game! You seem to add new ways to unnecessarily hamper and restrict the player with every release (and its the unnecessary of it which is pissing me off to the point of stopping spending money on the game, because these aren't changes to the gameplay, these are restrictions for restrictions sake)! You have, in relatively recent changes (over the last several years, but cumulating in the new Tutorial): Added the anger inducing "feature" where that resets the player back to where the GAME wants the player to be WITHOUT ASKING. It doesn't matter where YOU think I should be, as a player I should be DECIDING where to be and YOU should simply be offering me choices from there. This happens in space AND on the ground and is especially stupid in space (as I think to myself, wow, I would love to go to that planet right now, I start flying there, knowing there to be a mission start at that location only to be @*#&@# reset / jumped back to orbiting some other planet which is in the games mind I should be at, no asking me, no helping me JUST forcing me). So, I was recently enjoying exploring some area of the game map (for example, the new Discovery tutorial) and I see for example a park or mountain so, I walk to there, only to be unceremoniously and AGRESSIVELY reset/teleported BACK to some dumb starting position >.<. I've SEEN the start position, I know what your WANTING me to do (the game makes it VERY clear), I WANT TO PLAY THE GAME WITH MY CHOICES NOT YOUR SLAVE LIKE FORCING. I cannot express how annoying and stupid this is. If I WANTED to be anyway I would WALK OR FLY THERE! I want to explore the map (and never want to be stopped from doing so for anything other than me deciding I'm now bored or have fully explored and am ready to press forward the mission). It's was bad enough you tended to throw up invisible walls everywhere >.<! Then you go and add injury and frankly assault and battery as well as insult with these player resets and the total removal of player choice. The player choice that pre-existed was already thin but at least in the old day players could revel exploring the glorious infrequently visited map areas (and you do make some beautiful maps, which is a good incentive to play and what had previously kept me happily paying for in game toys). So, if you want me and other to continue to play the game and want to us to be paying and contributing to its survival, you need to do one simple thing: o REMOVE ANY AND ALL SITUATIONS WHERE THE GAME FORCES THE PLAYER TO RETURN TO SOME LOCATION AND RE-INSTATE THE OLD GOOD SYSTEM OF "Are you ready to beam up?" AND "Warp to deep space?" anywhere you might be tempted ensure THE PLAYER HAS A CHOICE, OFFER GAME HELP AND GIVES AN OPTION TO "Dismis" LEAVING THE PLAYER FREE TO PLAY THE GAME ANY WAY THEY CAN WITHIN THE PHYSICS OF THE ENVIRONMENT. I fully intend myself to not now to spend another cent with yourselves until you remove from the game all manditory position resets replacing them with the standard dialog OFFERING non-forcefully to assist the player in returning to the best position to play the game WITH THE OPTION TO DISMISS AND IGNORE THAT. Since if I want to play some plot element where I go miles out of my way then THAT is how I want to pay to play. I DONT WANT TO PLAY TO BE EFFECTIVELY INCARCERATED AND FORCED WITHIN A BOX WHEN THERE IS A HUGE OPEN AREA TO EXPLORE! It's entirely up to you of course what you do with your game, but I note that other games work with players and are free roaming, and the incentive for me to move away from this game bringing as many friends with me as I can is high with these problems.
